SEASON 2, EPISODE 6: James 1:2 Can Get Bent (w/ Joylyn Sripathi)

Episode Summary

Thoughts and prayers are great and all. I’m sure sometimes, maybe even often, the offer is genuine. But when we’re in the midst of the darkest night in our soul, we might need something a bit more tangible. More than just words. Therapy. Medication. Friends, family, and a church community that will walk with you until you see the light again. When we need this tangible expression, it doesn’t mean our faith is weak. Maybe these things are the very answer to our prayers.

Today we are joined by a very special guest. I’m proud to introduce to you one of the all time greats, my sister, Joylyn Sripathi. She joins us to share about her journey with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. What’s it like living with OCD? How has it impacted her faith? Where is God in all this? How can churches better support people dealing with mental health struggles? All this and more.
